Description

This village is worth going out of your way for, if only for its ancient Benedictine abbey founded in 974 by Count Hugues III of Eguisheim-Dabo. The special attraction of the abbey church lies in the juxtaposition of the Romanesque style used for the nave and the Baroque style used for the transept and the choir. Inside you can see the reliquary bust of Saint Cyriacus, the baptismal fonts, the pulpit, the high altar and the Silbermann organ. An atmosphere of peace and serenity reigns in the gardens where you can explore the site of the former cloister.
