Description

In the 1st and 2nd centuries, a potters’ guild was established in the district of Dinsheim. It produced pottery in red sigillated earthenware, as we can see from the shards discovered at the site. The Neo-Classical church, built in 1828, stands in the centre of the village as does the town hall, an elegant building in the Neo-Baroque style constructed in 1869. But the site’s major attraction is undoubtedly the Schiebenberg hill that leads to a statue of the Virgin and Child in gilded cast iron on its summit. There is an impressive panoramic view at the top and benches are provided to allow you to rest and admire the landscape.
