Description

This track that runs along the Bruche Channel is much appreciated by the locals, since the waterway's former towpaths turned cycle lane are a delight to use, any day of the year. As for the channel itself, it was designed by the architect Vauban who shipped to Strasbourg materials needed for the construction of his Fortress. A detour by the Dompeter, one of the oldest churches in Alsace, in Avolsheim or by the Vauban Dam in Wolxheim is in order for History enthusiasts. Molsheim also has something to offer, with the Jesuit Church and the Chartreuse. As for Ergersheim, some beautiful wash houses still stand in the village as reminders of the washerwomen in the ancient time. In Altorf, the gardens of the St. Cyriacus Abbey are a true corner of Paradise. These are just a few examples, as you still have plenty of treasures left to discover in Strasbourg.

Be careful, round-trip between Kolbsheim and Strasbourg
